Abstract
Realization of semitransparent organic photovoltaic cells (ST-OPVs) is an important step toward new applications such as power-generating tinted thin film coated coating on building windows, foldable curtains, automobile windshields, and other architectural and fashion elements. In this chapter, an overview of the state-of-the-art ST-OPVs are discussed, and together with several important factors that are required to achieving achieve high performance ST-OPVs, including the development of new transparent electrodes, efficient low-bandgap materials, new device structures, and optical engineering are discussed.
