Abstract
Nitrogen-doped hollow carbon spheres with a well-defined shape, uniform diameter, and high doping concentration (11 at%) are synthesized via space-confined thermal decomposition of a single source precursor zinc carbodiimide, which can serve as both carbon and nitrogen sources and also a self-template. © The Royal Society of Chemistry 2018.
