Abstract
A self-decoupled U-slot patch antenna based on field valleys distribution is proposed for multi-input-multi-output (MIMO) applications. This antenna has two field valleys of the current distribution along the E plane. Due to the presence of field valleys, decoupling of the E-plane array can be effectively obtained. The asymmetry in the locations of the field valleys gives rise to three different array orientations. Based on this self-decoupled antenna, high-isolation E-plane arrays can be realized. © 2024 IEEE.
