Abstract
A self-biased distributed amplifier with wideband linearity improvement and efficiency enhancement is presented. With the aid of a self-adaptive bias network, the location of IMD3 minimum is dynamically manipulated, while the DC bias power of the distributed amplifier is adoptively biased. Experimental two-tone test successfully demonstrates more than 10 dB and 27% reductions of the first sidelobes and the DC power consumptions are achieved respectively in the proposed design when operating between 900 and 3300 MHz. © 2008 Wiley Periodicals, Inc.
