Abstract

The evaluation of blood pressure (BP) measuring devices typically involves more than one parameter. Because the comparison of devices using two or more parameters is complex, a single parameter evaluation system is desirable. Four widely used difference measures are chosen for the study: mean absolute difference (MAD), root mean square difference (RMSD), mean absolute percentage difference (MAPD), and root mean square percentage difference (RMSPD). Theoretical and experimental results indicated that MAD and MAPD are potentially better than the other two parameters to establish a single parameter evaluation system.
