Abstract
In the past two decades, researchers have been finding alternative ways, which are economic and eco-friendly, for the synthesis of fuels and new chemicals using CO2 as a main source of materials. Carbon dioxide particularly causes global warming, and commonly, it is cited as the inexpensive waste material. The basic laboratory-scale research currently under process is about the conversion of carbon dioxide to different useful products. However, only few can be relatively adapted for the large-scale industries. This chapter deals with some of the fuels and chemicals (dimethyl ether, formic acid, methane, ethylene and ethanol, polymer, oxalate and oxalic acid, fuel hydrocarbon, and carbon nanotube) derived from CO2 using various chemical applications.
