Abstract
This paper describes a robust chiller sequencing control strategy developed for central chilling plants with multiple chillers. In the robust strategy, a data fusion scheme is used to improve the reliability of building cooling load measurement. A chiller maximum cooling capacity online calculation scheme is used to improve the reliability of chiller sequencing control together with the data fusion scheme. A fault detection and diagnosis scheme is developed to ensure that the chiller sequencing control operates healthily. The robust chiller sequencing control strategy is validated using the dynamic simulation of the central chiller plant in a high-rising building in Hong Kong. ©2009 ACA.
