Abstract

Anomalous TO-type modes in the Raman spectra of spherical InP QDs are explained invoking the optical deformation potential mechanism which is shown to be as important as the Fröhlich-type one. Raman spectra, calculated in a model taking into account electron, hole and optical phonon confinement in a perfect nano-sphere with the exciton-phonon interaction via both mechanisms, show excellent agreement with experimental results. © 2005 American Institute of Physics.
