Abstract

In order to meet the demand for structural parts with high elastic modulus of magnesium matrix composites, the key point is to find the ideal reinforcement and explore the suitable processing. The addition of carbon nanotubes (CNTs) in magnesium alloy can strength the fine-grained, stress transfer, dislocation and thermal residual stress, which is prefer to improve the tensile strength, elastic modulus and other mechanical properties of magnesium alloy. The research progress of magnesium matrix composite reinforced with CNTs was introduced based on the preparation technology of magnesium matrix composite by CNTs. The effects of CNTs on the elastic modulus of composite were specially focused. Furthermore, some research trends were also suggested.
