Abstract
A full-wave analysis of infinite arrays of aperture-coupled patch antennas is conducted. For a broadside infinite array, it is shown that the use of offset dual-patch antennas as array elements provide wideband designs as expected. For a phased array, a large volume is required. Additionally, it is shown that an array with a triangular grid has the wider scan angle in E-plane, and that the scan-bandwidth of an array can be optimized.
