Abstract

Large public infrastructure projects require higher skills by practitioners, and the complex nature of mega projects also leads to a more hazardous work environment for professionals, which will increase the coordination and risk problems for both building operators and utility workers. Given the special nature of infrastructure and utility projects, it is observed that nowadays robotic applications are emerging in the industry. This article introduces various robots that have been developed in the area of infrastructure and utility construction and maintenance, and presents those cases according to its specific applicable workplace and stage. Finally, unsolved problems are indicated for further research and development in the industry
