Abstract
This paper addresses the issue in real-time implementation of an 8 kbps full-duplex multi-pulse coder on a single chip DSP. Fast algorithms for searching the pulse information and for calculating the cross-correlation between the input speech and the impulse response of the LPC filter will be given. The coder employs a simple and fast coding scheme for packing the pulse positions to low data rates.
