Abstract

In an international survey conducted in 2017, nearly 33% of schoolchildren in Hong Kong reported being bullied at least a few times per month. The figure is alarming, indicating that aggression is widespread in local schools. Furthermore, without early intervention to prevent the aggressive behavior of schoolchildren, the aggressors might commit further criminal acts when they grow up, thereby negatively affecting their schools, families, and society in the long run. This chapter reviews the characteristics of people with reactive and proactive aggression, the interventions used to reduce aggression in students in Hong Kong, and the effectiveness of these interventions. © Springer Nature Switzerland AG 2023.
