Abstract

Discusses, with reference to the Singapore Court of Appeal ruling in Quoine Pty Ltd v B2C2 Ltd, and the New Zealand High Court decision in Ruscoe v Cryptopia Ltd (In Liquidation), whether cryptoassets are capable of being held on trust, and if so, when this may occur. Reviews key features of the cases, their examination of the relationship between cryptoasset exchanges and their customers, and the issues they address.
