Abstract

Zr-based glassy forming alloys were synthesized at two level of oxygen: fully glassy alloys in low oxygen level and quasicrystal riched alloys in high oxygen level. Two different alloys were characterized by X-Ray diffraction and Transmission electronic microscopy. The size of quasicrystal phase ranged from less than 100 nm to more than 200 nm. The mechanical behaviors of these alloys were also investigated. ©2010 IEEE.
