Abstract

In the version of this article initially published, in the tenth paragraph, in the text now reading, in part, “…whereas the frequency and proportion of non-hard-strike landfall events increase from 8 and 30% to 17 and 44% over these two periods,” spurious percentage symbols appeared after “8” and “17.” Further, ref. 9 was cited out of order and has been renumbered as 6, with the original refs. 6–8 now appearing as 7–9. The changes have been made to the HTML and PDF versions of the article.
