Abstract
The prototype of an organometallic linear-rod building block incorporating the saturated α-donating 16-TMC macrocycle, peripheral pyridine moieties for versatile ligation, and the π-conjugated trans[Ru(C≡Cpy-4)2] fragment along the molecular axis, is described and applied to the assembly of trimetallic arrays.
