Abstract

In this paper, two miniaturized second-order balanced bandpass filters are designed by loading high Q fixed capacitors on an open-ring resonator. Both filters use a crosscoupling structure to introduce a pair of transmission zeros, which significantly improves the channel selectivity. In addition, the open stubs at the ports will also generate a transmission zero, greatly broadening the upper stopband. The overall dimensions of these two filters are identical (0.15 λg × 0.16 λg), but the common-mode suppression is different. In addition, differentialmode resonant frequency and common-mode resonant frequency are analyzed in detail, and the ratio of the two is the key to determine the common-mode suppression. Finally, the common-mode suppression of these two balanced bandpass filters are 15dB and 34dB respectively. © 2023 IEEE.
