Abstract
The practical application of the Orbital Angular Momentum (OAM) antenna is limited by its valid transmission distance which affected by the gain and the divergence of OAM beams. Open resonator antenna (ORA) can realize a high gain and low divergence OAM radiation by exciting two HE21 modes inside. The proposed antenna consists of a spherical ground and a partially reflective surface (PRS) and is fed by slot-coupled patches. A 14-dBi gain OAM beam (l = ± 2) with its maximum directivity in ± 9° can be achieved at 13 GHz by this structure.
