Abstract
Nonlinear dynamics of a semiconductor laser subject to delayed optical feedback is revisited for generating single-tone microwave oscillations and square-wave modulated microwave oscillations based on period-one (P1) states and the associated state switching, respectively. Microwave oscillations at around 9.0 GHz are obtained without using any electronic sources through undamping the relaxation oscillation of the laser.
