Abstract

This paper introduces a Fabry Perot Cavity (FPC) antenna with wide bandwidh and high gain characteristics at millimeter wave (MMW) band. By using a quasi-curve plane which consists of five metallic stepped rings, the antenna operating at 60 GHz achieves 38% impedance bandwidth and 32% 3-dB gain bandwidth. Its peak gain is 21.5 dBi. This antenna technology finds a potential application in millimeter-wave communications such as 5G applications.
