Abstract
This paper demonstrates a novel ME dipole antenna element design with dual excitation sources. Same as the original ME dipole, the proposed antenna has the excellent radiation characteristics of wideband, low back radiation and high polarization purity for both single and dual linear polarization. In addition, it has the characteristics of lower profile and higher gain as well. High input ports isolation is achieved in the dual polarization design. These advanced performances cannot be achieved by the conventional ME dipoles.
