Abstract
Despite of the high popularity of Sudoku, most people are not aware of the applicable rules explicitly when playing the game. In this project, we proposed an Intelligent Tutoring System (ITS) that aims to help logic development by solving Sudoku puzzles. The proposed ITS is capable of providing players with hints on deductive inference in solving Sudoku puzzles. The expert model of our ITS contains deductive rules used to uncover each cell value and the hint generator in the teacher model is able to provide stepwise hints for the next step. Players may also change the rule orders in order to have a different problem solving strategy.
