Abstract

This paper investigates a wideband dual-polarized rectangular dielectric resonator antenna (DRA). The DRA is simultaneously excited in its fundamental TE111 mode and higher-order TE113 mode to widen the bandwidth. Their degenerate fields are also excited to obtain a polarization diversity antenna. An overlapped bandwidth of 29.6% (2.88-3.88 GHz), antenna gains ranging from 4.8 dBi to 9.9 dBi, and isolations higher than 47 dB were simulated using ANSYS HFSS.
