Abstract

High gain terahertz antennas are of growing interestin recent decade. Fresnel Zone plate lens (FZPL) antenna is oneof the good candidates because of its simple structure and it canbe easily fed by a waveguide. A planar type reflector-backedFresnel Zone plate lens antenna is proposed which can achievehigh gain and reasonable impedance bandwidth at 300GHzrange. The problem of unequal E- and H-plane radiationpatterns of a typical waveguide fed FZPL is eradicated by a novelfeeding structure based on the complementary source technique. Both the complementary source and lens are printed on genericPTFE substrate with and without plated through holes, respectively.
