Abstract
What does Hong Kong mean for Hong Kong people, for mainland China, and the overseas Chinese? This talk considers the 20-year anniversary of Hong Kong’s return to China through a discussion about works on film, which takes into account Hong Kong’s globally influential 20th-century film industry, changes in Hong Kong, and the modern history of Asia.
