N2 - As DES is well known and widely used, modifying existing design is needed to increase its security protection level. A specified cryptographic module is needed in IC card, since the popularity of its applications associated with its security problems. The proposed algorithm has increased the complexity of cryptanalysis and introduced a new mechanism for key management to be used in IC card systems. Due to the simplicity of the illustrated working mechanism, it can be easily implemented in an IC card.
