Abstract
The optical properties of tris-(8-hydroxyquinoline) aluminum (Alq) doped with 4-dicyanomethylene-2-methyl-6-(p-dimethyl-aminostyryl)-4H-pyran (DCM) in solutions were studied. The steady-state excitation and spontaneous emission spectra were measured. The results suggested that the thin MgF2 was used as a confinement layer to induce lasing action in organic films prepared by simple thermal evaporation.
