Abstract
The photomodulation spectroscopy was used to analyze the pressure dependence of optical transition associated with the fundamental band-gap energy of single-crystal bulk CdSe. Photomodulated transmission (PT) measurements were performed as a function of applied hydrostatic pressure using the diamond-anvil-cell technique. The hydrostatic deformation potential of the band gap was found to be -2.3 eV. The result show that the pressure coefficient for the direct band gap of CdSe was 43.1 meV/GPa.
