Abstract

The preparation and characterization of uniformly sized sub-micrometer spherical silica/organic polymer hybrid particles were studied. Silica sol was formed through the hydrolysis and polycondensation of TEOS using a modified Stober method. The images of the silica particles were taken with a field emission gun scanning electron microscope. The results showed that the hybrid particles obtained were in the form of a core-shell structure.
