Abstract

Photochromic thieno[3,2-b]thiophenes and dithieno[3,2-b:2′,3′- d]thiophene with photo-switchable luminescence properties have been synthesized using a Suzuki cross-coupling reaction; their electronic structures, and photochromic and luminescence behaviour have also been studied. © The Royal Society of Chemistry.
