Abstract
Transparent thin film coatings of sol-gel derived titanium dioxide were produced at low temperatures. The photocatalytic activity of the formed layers was studied by means of their antibacterial property. The UV-Vis transmission of the coatings was investigated. The effect of film coating on the mechanical and physical properties of the substrates is discussed.
