Abstract

A personalized intelligent agent system was developed to highlight words of interest to a particular user when he/she browses web pages. The browsed web pages are first classified into several pre-defined categories to classify the page content. Each category is then described by a set of keywords that may be of interest to the user that were selected statistically. These keywords are a personalized description of the category for this user instead of a generalized description for all users. The agent can then highlight interesting keywords in web pages for fast browsing in a personalized way. Experiments show that users can be satisfied with the performance.
