Abstract
Integrating institution based view with firm internationalization research, we argue that there are two facets of home country institutions - their supportiveness for international expansion and their unfavorableness for domestic operations - both of which facilitate foreign direct investment. These relationships are however moderated by a firm's degree of international orientation.
