Abstract
Multiprocessor machines provide increased computational power and memory capacity that can be used to achieve task involving large amount of data such as image. For instance, many sophisticated operations on image data using a single processor machine take very long time. With multiprocessor machine, such operations will be accomplished within reasonable time constraints. In order to efficiently utilize multiprocessor machines, conventional image processing algorithms have to be parallelized.
