Abstract
The COVID-19 crisis has become the most serious public health crisis since the early 20th century at the time of the Spanish flu. This essay series focuses on the theme of the caveats of “border-crossing.” It looks at how disease and people, information and misinformation, and mischievous political rhetoric and contradicting medical discourses cross borders. The special edition is guest edited by Professor Yuk Wah Chan of the City University of Hong Kong, whose cover essay (co-authored with David Haines of George Mason University) can be read in this special edition.
