Abstract
This study aimed to describe the use of information and communication technologies (ICTs) by Hong Kong older adults (over 60 years of age), and to explore the factors affecting their intention to use ICT innovations in future. A questionnaire survey was conducted with 109 older adults in Hong Kong. Exploratory factor analysis was used to extract important factors. Hierarchical regression was used to assess the associations between factors and intention to use ICT innovations in the future. The results showed that the older adults mainly used ICTs for entertainment and social communication. Education, perceived benefits, and security and privacy were applications and issues that were significantly and positively associated with the intention that older adult had towards use of ICT innovations in the future.
