Abstract
Organic materials such as low molecules are attracting much attention as candidates for flat panel displays and semiconductor applications. The tris-(8-hydroxy quinoline)-aluminum complex, Alq3, is the most important and widely studied material. However, there are many things which still remain to be studied. Here, the rare earth ion Tb is doped in Alq3 with different proportions and the excitation, emission and absorption spectra are studied. The luminescent decay measurements also have been studied. © 2002 Elsevier Science B.V. All rights reserved.
