This essay connects this issue’s six articles in three ways. First, it highlights the common themes that appear in these articles. Second, it identifies the different approaches in the six articles to explain the significance of the May Fourth Movement. Third, it assesses the contributions of the six articles to remembering the May Fourth Movement.
