Abstract

Based on the generalized dressing method, we propose two variable-coefficient coupled Hirota equations and derive their Lax pairs. The generalized dressing method is applied to study these variable-coefficient coupled Hirota equations, from which explicit solutions of the two equations and their reductions are constructed. © 2009 American Institute of Physics.
