N2 - The control of Hopf bifurcations in neural network systems is studied in this Letter. The asymptotic stability theorem and the relevant corollary for linearized nonlinear dynamical systems are proven. In particular, a novel method for analyzing the local stability of a dynamical system with time-delay is suggested. For the time-delayed system consisting of one or two neurons, a washout filter based control model is proposed and analyzed. By employing the stability theorems derived, we investigate the stability of a control system and state the relevant theorems for choosing the parameters of the stabilized control system. © 2005 Elsevier B.V.
