Abstract

This paper presents an overview of the research on passive and active on-chip terahertz antennas and arrays conducted at the State Key Laboratory of THz and Millimeter Waves (City University of Hong Kong). For passive antennas, we focus on the performance in impedance and gain bandwidths of the antennas and the size reduction of the feeding networks for the arrays. For active on-chip antennas, we focus on the antenna size, their placement in an array, and the impedance matching to the active circuit to achieve high radiation power. © 2023 IEEE.
