Abstract
The earliest software reliability model suggested by Jelinski-Moranda has suffered much critics. However, new models may be constructed through removing the unrealistic assumptions. Among the assumptions used, the most serious one is that all software faults contribute the same amount to the failure intensity. In this paper we shall discuss a possibility of modifying this model without making this assumption. We comment on some results and discuss a release problem.
