Abstract
(Chemical Equation Presented) Oct-2-yn-4-enoyl-CoA was found to be a multifunctional irreversible enzyme inhibitor in fatty acid oxidation mainly targeting mitochondrial trifunctional protein β-subunit. It can also inactivate enoyl-CoA hydratase 2 and medium-chain acyl-CoA dehydrogenase. This study increased our understanding for the effect of acetylenic acids on fatty acid oxidation. © 2008 American Chemical Society.
