Abstract
The effect of air curtain application in air-conditioning rooms is studied to analyze its feasibility in maintain local indoor environment. 18 cases with different air curtain locations, air extraction locations and circulation air flow rates are calculated numerically. The results show that air curtain can efficiently separate outside heat sources. As circulation air flow rate increases, the average temperature in focused zone will decrease first for most cases, and then will not change a lot. The locations of the air curtain and air extraction have great influences on temperature under low circulation air flow rate, and weak influence when the flow rate is large enough. Preliminary analysis indicates that a reasonable installation of air curtain can make a reduction of temperature as high as 1.7°C, so the supplied air temperature can be higher. The results can provide a reference to the application of air curtain indoors.
