Abstract

This paper presents novel W-hand passband filters using E-plane planar resonators in standard waveguide. Rectangular ring resonator, C-shaped resonator and central folded stripline resonator (CFSR) are used to design the W-band filters. The three different types of resonator induce transmission zeroes at the appropriate frequencies below or above the required passband to improve the selectivity and out-of-band rejection performance. Simulated studies of three filter configurations are carefully conducted to demonstrate the proposed design method. The proposed filter has the properties of compact size, low cost and easy fabrication using the E-plane technology
