Abstract
The accepted mechanism in metallic micro-forming is grain boundary sliding and grain rotation, with feature size limited by grain size. However, contrary to this belief, by employing a silicon master, excellent replication of micro-features much smaller than grain size was achieved by hot embossing near the solidus temperature of AA6061. © 2010 Elsevier B.V.
