Abstract
A constrained optimization approach to the design of optimal compensators for general MIMO (multi-input, multi-output) nonlinear feedback control systems is presented. The general framework for nonlinear closed-loop feedback systems is described in a Banach space setting in the time domain. Several typical optimal feedback design problems are formulated, and existence and uniqueness theorems are established. A numerical algorithm is given.
