Abstract
A new balanced planar ultra-wideband (UWB) antenna is proposed. First, a novel uniplanar broadband balun transition is presented. Then, a balanced UWB planar dipole antenna fed by the proposed balun is studied, and has a measured bandwidth from 2.8 to 11.2 GHz for the return loss better than -10 dB. © 2006 Wiley Periodicals, Inc.
