    Abstract

Multiwavelength oscillation has been obtained in an erbium-doped fiber laser. A double-pass optical fiber Mach-Zehnder interferometer is employed as a comb filter inside the laser cavity. To reduce the homogeneous linewidth, the erbium-doped optical fiber was immersed in liquid nitrogen. Simultaneous oscillation often wavelengths is observed. © 1999 John Wiley & Sons, Inc.
